Libbey Ketterer

BS, Gallaudet University // MSW, University of Cincinnati

Libbey comes to The Anxiety Center in Cincinnati from the University of Cincinnati, where she is about to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialization in Mental Health (April 2022). Libbey graduated from Gallaudet University in 2019, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Studies.

Before joining us at TAC, Libbey spent time working at a School for the Deaf, a residential therapeutic center for children and teens, and a Transgender Clinic within a children’s hospital. She has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. The experiences she gained in those roles have helped to inform the approach she takes with clients. Libbey is well-versed in practicing trauma-informed care and focuses on being sensitive to cultural issues and marginalized groups, including the LGBTQ+ population and the Deaf community. She believes in the importance of working towards a state of mental wellness and recognizes that it is not a linear path. Libbey believes that all clients should have access to evidenced-based treatments, including cognitive behavior therapy, Ex/RP, and dialectical behavior therapy.  Her overarching approach to these therapies is client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused.

My Passion

"I believe that every person is the master of their own life experiences. I understand that expressing painful experiences and emotions can be difficult, but I also recognize that it is a key step on the path of healing and growing past the tough challenges that we face. I hold the view that achieving and maintaining mental wellness is a multifaceted, lifelong journey, and I am committed to supporting and guiding others who are interested in that journey. I want to help others reach their goals, whether that is to recognize the strength that is present within them, to build up their confidence, to find the peace that they desire, to live beyond their diagnosis, or something else. In my personal life, I am passionate about destigmatizing mental health conditions, running my small pottery business, and spending time with my loved ones (with a big emphasis on cuddling with my cat, Lula!)."
